How to clean a shower head.

WARNING: This one requires a bit of preparation and being a handyman.

First of all you must unscrew the showerhead as we are going to need to have it all by itself later on. In most cases using a lot of force will do the trick, if you couldn't get it off, don't worry it's not a lost battle. We have a way on how to clean it without removing it.

How to clean an unscrewed shower head

Get a bowl or a bucket big enough to fit over the shower head.

Place the shower head in the bowl/bucket and fill it with white vinegar. Make sure that the head is completely submerged in the vinegar.

Let the head soak in the vinegar for at least 12 hours. (Soak brass, gold or nickel plated shower heads for only 30 minutes).

After the shower head has soaked turn on the shower and run hot water through your head to remove any loose material.

How to clean a shower head without unscrewing it

Get a plastic bag big enough to fit over the shower head and fill it with white vinegar.

Next step is to secure the plastic bag with a rubber band to keep the vinegar inside the bag.

Again soak it for around 12 hours unless it's brass, gold or nickel plated - then 30 minutes should be enough.

After it has soaked in, remove the plastic bag and run hot water through the head to remove and residue.
