Cleaning a shower curtain is not as easy as you might think. That's why we come to the rescue.

There are different types of shower curtains but we are going to focus on 2 types, which are fabric and plastic - these 2 are the most popular ones.

How to clean a fabric shower curtain

Cleaning a fabric shower curtain takes a little more care than cleaning a plastic curtain.

Remove your shower curtain from the rings.

Fill your washing machine with warm water and set the largest load.

Add a few drops of detergent and a cup of white vinegar.

Wash your fabric shower curtain on a delicate cycle.

After the wash, hang the curtain on the rod to air dry.

How to clean a plastic shower curtain

To wash a plastic shower curtain, you need to either add half a cup of colorfast bleach, laundry detergent, vinegar, or baking soda to the wash cycle and add a few towels on a cooler setting. Be careful not to mix these detergents as they could attack each other.

If you specifically want to kill mold spores or remove mold, use bleach as a detergent. After washing, simply hang up your plastic curtain to dry.
